DID YOU KNOW?

The Rouen duck is one of the largest duck breeds in the world. At the Bird Park of Brijuni National Park there is a male Crested Rouene duck with a crest. DISTRIBUTION
It originates from France (the city of Rouen) and today it is a widespread domestic species that is used for meat or exhibitions.

HABITAT

Habitats around fresh water (ponds or lakes).

LIFETIME
With good care 8-10 years.
ACTIVITY
It has a friendly nature, except when guarding the territory. It generally gets along well with other types of ducks. Due to its weight and inability to fly, it has a specific gait, the so-called "waddle". Generally, it does not vote excessively.
REPRODUCTION
It is ready for breeding at 7-10 months, when it can start laying eggs. It lays 5-10 eggs per litter, and is not limited to a certain period of the year. The incubation period is 28 days. During mating, the male is extremely aggressive towards the female.
DIET
Eats various grains, fresh vegetables and pelleted food; and can eat insects, larvae, snails, various plant species and even smaller fish.
