This summer, the Brijuni National Park invites visitors to explore the unique Brijuni Carriage Collection – a valuable collection of authentic historic carriages that bear witness to a special period in the island’s history, when Brijuni were synonymous with luxury tourism and elegance.
The stable housing the Brijuni Carriage Collection opens on 15 July.
The collection can be visited:
- Wednesdays from 10:00 to 14:00
- Saturdays from 14:00 to 18:00
The collection features nine carefully preserved carriages of various types and purposes, dating from the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Among the exhibits are luxurious town carriages such as the landau and milord, hunting carriages, a four-horse postal carriage, as well as ceremonial carriages that transported numerous world statesmen and distinguished guests, including Eleanor Roosevelt and Gamal Abdel Nasser.
A carriage of particular value is the Victoria type carriage, a gift from Queen Elizabeth II to Josip Broz Tito, which continues to captivate visitors with its elegance and historical significance.
We invite all visitors to include a visit to the stable during their stay on Brijuni and discover a collection that brings the spirit of past times to life while offering insight into the rich history of island tourism and life on Brijuni.
